HIGH efficiency, low power consumption technology developed by first-time PTC Asia exhibitor Electric Motor Power to establish a successful market beachhead in China.
Melbourne-based EMP director Charles Matheou said the company had made strong sales and distribution contacts at PTC Asia 2007, and had already made the decision to return to the show next year.
Established in 1990, the company has so far manufactured its specialist electric motors in Australia. But two months ago the company began producing motors in Ningbo, near Shanghai, in preparation for a full assault on the potentially huge China market.

Shanghai’s smog hangs thick over the city. It has become a distinguishable - if unfortunate - feature of the city, and of many major cities throughout Asia. However there is a change in the air, fast coming from companies ready to invest in environmentally responsible technologies.
At PTC Asia 2007, it is clear that the demand for ‘green’ products is quickly increasing. The Yuanda Group and Kaori Technology are two of the many companies exhibiting at PTC Asia 2007 that are focused on environmentally sustainable products.
PTC Asia 2007 is the leading trade fair for Power, Transmission and Control products, and the involvement of ‘green’ focused companies evidences the gathering momentum for investing in environmentally conscious technologies.

SHANGHAI People’s Congress vice-chairman Zhou Yu Peng has endorsed the CeBIT Asia, CeMAT Asia, and PTC Asia events, and said the exhibition centre would be expanded to cope with future growth of the shows.
Mr Zhou, who was touring the events at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre as part of a flying VIP visit, said the three areas of focus for the event – materials handling, hydraulic and control devices, and banking and information security – were considered “most important” issues that were on top of the Government agenda.
As one of the most senior politicians in Shanghai, Mr Zhou has a long history of involvement with the trade fairs, and in his previous role of “Lord Vice-Mayor” in Shanghai had been in charge of the original approval for building the SNIEC facility.
