Logistics equipment specialists Boracs Co. Ltd make their debut at CeMAT Asia with a 2-storey display, showcasing their products to an international crowd.
The three-years-young company comes to CeMAT Asia for the first time this year with hopes to expand its global market presence.
Boracs General Manager, Mr Frances Seow says the company has quite a grounded approach to its development, setting it apart from some other companies in a similar position.

CUSTOM training development and delivery specialist Blended Learning is exhibiting at CeBIT Asia for the first time as part of its first foray outside of its Australian home market, and the company is bullish about its prospects in China.
Blended Learning director Ian Read said its strength in the Australian public sector and its unique relationship with the Australian National University had given the company credibility with interested Chinese contacts.
The company includes the Department of Defence, Australian Taxation Office and Health Insurance Commission among its Australian Federal Government customers, and RailCorp, Sydney Ferries and the Road & Traffic Authority as NSW Government customers.

SHANGHAI People’s Congress vice-chairman Zhou Yu Peng has endorsed the CeBIT Asia, CeMAT Asia, and PTC Asia events, and said the exhibition centre would be expanded to cope with future growth of the shows.
Mr Zhou, who was touring the events at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre as part of a flying VIP visit, said the three areas of focus for the event – materials handling, hydraulic and control devices, and banking and information security – were considered “most important” issues that were on top of the Government agenda.
As one of the most senior politicians in Shanghai, Mr Zhou has a long history of involvement with the trade fairs, and in his previous role of “Lord Vice-Mayor” in Shanghai had been in charge of the original approval for building the SNIEC facility.

TURKEY has turned its commercial attentions to the China market, and benefits in its business dealings on the mainland from its East-West cultural heritage, according to Turkish diplomat .
A Commercial Attache with the Turkish diplomatic mission in China, Mr Bayri said Turkey and China shared a commercial history in which both countries opened their markets to the world in the early eighties.
He said Turkey was now focused on developing its commercial ties with China. Three Turkish companies are exhibiting at the CeMAT Asia 2007 materials handling and logistics expo in Shanghai this week.

The Victorian Government treated a crowd of CeBIT visiters to some good old Australian hospitality at a well-attended reception hosted by the state’s ICT industry development agency Multimedia Victoria this afternoon.
Good food, refreshing drinks, and some friendly conversation were received with a warm welcome, as the ideal way to close a busy second day at CeBIT Asia.
The CeBIT Asia delegation head Ian Naughton hosted the reception. Having participated in CeBIT Asia before, Mr Naughton was familiar with the workings of offshore trade events.

GLOBAL semiconductor leader and memory chip specialist Nanya Technology Corporation present a bright, energetic face for the DRAM industry in a bid to revive their business from a long-standing, industry-wide low.
Its bumblebee-hued booth is an oasis of excitement, offering pop music and scantily-clad break dancing girls in costumes modeled to replicate their ‘Elixir Boy’ mascot.
‘We wanted our booth to have bright colours and entertainment … something to get the audience excited’, said Nanya Global Sales and Marketing Vice-President Pei Lin Pai.

GLOBAL semiconductor firm Marvell Technologies’ chip-sets are already found in tens of millions of PCs and consumer devices sold annually, controlling functions from storage to communications.
Now the company has turned its attention to power management, and says the so-called Green technology represents a huge business opportunity.
Marvell General Manager for Power Management and Industrial Control Hubie Notohamiprodjo says just as consumers are demanding devices that give them longer battery life, they are also looking for products that are less harmful to the environment through smarter energy use.

ONLINE B2B marketplace Alibaba.com expects to rapidly expand the number of business suppliers joining the service from outside of China over the next three years.
And the company says its expansion plans will likely involve forming deeper relationships with offline partners, such as trade exhibition partners like CeBIT.
Alibaba.com is one of the largest online B2B marketplaces in the world. The company was founded in China, but more recently has embarked on a strategy to expand both its geographic appeal, and its supplier/buyer numbers.

Day Two of PTC Asia 2007 has proved a great success for exhibitors, with organisers reporting that the number of business visitors to the integrated trade shows - CeBIT Asia, CeMAT Asia and PTC Asia - are well above last year’s figure.
Exhibitors were able to meet with future clients as thousands of business visitors flooded into the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.
PTC is the leading trade fair for Power Transmission and Control, and incorporates exhibitors in Compressed Air Technology and Mechanical Transmission.
