AUSTRALIAN innovators hope to make their presence felt in Shanghai this week as a hard core delegation of top software developers and technology service providers fill an Australian pavilion at CeBIT Asia.
Led by Multimedia Victoria, the industry development arm of the Victorian state government, representatives from about 25 companies will explore opportunities in China as one of the largest and fastest growing and ICT markets in world.
The rapid economic development in China over the past decade – with sustained annual growth rates of near 10 per cent – has been driven in large part by it voracious adoption of new ICT products and services.

CeBIT Asia will this week showcase a unique relationship with the global B2B e-commerce web site Alibaba.com to promote the event and the products and services of its exhibitors to millions of online business buyers.
The initiative transforms the giant CeBIT Asia business technology trade fair from a three-day showcase into a year-round online exhibition.
The relationship, signed between Hannover Fairs Shanghai and Alibaba.com in July, is a breakthrough for the offline exhibition industry and online e-Commerce services.

FINAL preparations for the giant CeBIT Asia business technology trade fair in Shanghai are well underway, with special attention being paid to a high-tech Robotics display that will feature for the first time.
Now in its seventh year, CeBIT Asia at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre from October 10-13, is firmly established as the premier business technology conference and exhibition for the north Asia region.
This year’s show focuses on two major themes – Digital Life and e-Commerce – reflecting the voracious appetite of the booming Chinese economy for new technology among both consumers and businesses.
